MINUTES OF A MEETING OF FOSDYKE PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON TUESDAY FEBRUARY 7TH 2017 

AT 7.30PM IN THE VILLAGE HALL COMMITTEE ROOM

013/17 Apologies for absence and the reasons given

Apologies were received from Cllr. Cooper & Cllr. Spencer BCC

 

014/17 Receipt of Declarations of interest in accordance with the requirements of the Localism Act 2011

None were given

 

015/17 The Notes of the meeting held on Tuesday January 3rd were read and agreed, it was proposed by Cllr. Glenn seconded by Cllr. Pitt

 

016/17 Matters Arising

The salt bin has now been sorted.

 

017/17 Correspondence

An anonymous letter has been received regarding the street lights because the letter is anonymous no action can be sanctioned.

LCC – Temporary Road Closure – Whitecross Gate , Fosdyke 3 days during the period 27/02/17 to 19/03/17

LCC – A16 Sutterton from 21/03/17 to 30/03/17 for 2 days during this period

018/17 Financial matters

019/17 Best Kept Village Competition

The competition was discussed at length Cllr. C. Cropley remarked in these austere times he couldn’t propose the spending of the entrance fee if the majority of the village wasn.t behind the competition. It was proposed by Cllr. Wright seconded by Cllr. Pitt that Cllr. Glenn composes an article asking Mr. Martin to put it in the newsletter

 

020/17 Fosdyke Newsletter

Cllr. Cropley remarked that he was pleased that the newsletter was continuing to be less contentious. Cllr Glenn was pleased with fewer articles giving the opinion of one person. It was agreed that if the present tone continued it was showing the village in a more positive light.

 

021/17 Items for discussion at a future meeting.

Cllr. Glenn asked if the Village Hall could be on the Agenda and that discussions need to take place regarding the Clerks Salary. 022/17 to go into closed session.

It was proposed by Cllr. Glenn seconded by Cllr. Pitt that the Council go into closed session to discuss the quotes for the cutting of the grass outside the Village Hall, 3 quotes have been received after deliberation it was proposed by Cllr. Glenn seconded by Cllr. Pitt to accept the quote from Malc Firth Landscapes.  The Clerk to contact all who had submitted quotes.

 

There being no further business the meeting closed at approx. 8.15pm the next meeting will be on Tuesday April 4th at 7.30pm in the Village Hall Committee Room
