Dear Parish Council clerk,
National Grid Electricity Transmission plc (‘National Grid’) will be launching a statutory consultation on Wednesday 11th June 2025 for the proposed Grimsby to Walpole project (‘the Project’). This consultation will run for 8-weeks from Wednesday 11 June 2025 to 11:59pm on Wednesday 6 August 2025..
The Project involves the construction of approximately 140 km of new overhead transmission line from Grimsby to Walpole, associated new substations in the vicinity of Grimsby, Mablethorpe, Spalding Tee-Point in South Holland District and Walpole, and other associated required works.
As part of this consultation programme, we will be presenting our refined proposals for Grimsby to Walpole and will be seeking feedback on them that will help to refine our proposals before we submit a Development Consent Order application.
To ensure that members of your Parish Council are given an opportunity to understand both the Project and the consultation programme being undertaken, we are inviting your members to join a briefing webinar.
This briefing will provide information about the statutory consultation programme, the methods through which your local communities can engage in the process and the Project itself.
The Consultation programme briefings for Parish Councils in the south of Lincolnshire County will be held at 2-3pm on Monday 23 June and 2-3pm on Thursday 3 July.
